- John 14:6 (NKJV)

Prayer for understanding meaning and purpose of Unity and Peace.

Weekly prayer of January 9, 2005.

At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. This week let us ask God to help us understand the meaning and purpose of unity and peace.

Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for this week and for knowing that You have answers for all our questions and needs. This year in praying for unity and peace we thought it is important to understand their meaning and purpose.

Concerning unity, thank You LORD for showing us in Your word, the bible, that unity is:

to be one with You (1 Corinthians 6:17 ; Ephesians 4:4-6)

to be one in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12 -31)

to be one in worship (1 Corinthians 12: 4-11)

to be one with fellow believers (Acts 4:32 )

to be one in marriage (Genesis 2:24 ; 1 Corinthians 6:16 ) and

to be one with other nations (Acts 17:24 -31)

Concerning peace, thank You LORD for showing us: that You alone ordain and establish peace (Psalm 147:14; Isaiah 26:12)

while Your Son Jesus gives peace to believers not in the fashion of the world (John 14:27 ) but in Your fashion which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7)

Thank You for further showing us that peace is seeking You and being content with the basic necessities of life (1 Timothy 6:6, 7)

Based on what You have shown us about the meaning and purpose of unity and peace, enable us LORD to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness that You may grant us the unity and peace we so very much desire at home and abroad. We make this request on behalf of all that desire unity and peace, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

To our visitors: Let this prayer be yours as you receive it and personally offer it to God, Amen. If you said and offered this prayer to God and/or desired to have and to understand the meaning and purpose of unity and peace, or if you have any prayer requests please use this link to (Email Us).
