The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for help in acknowledging God as the first step towards Unity and Peace.
Weekly prayer of February 13, 2005.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for this week and for Your Word and Spirit that draw us closer to You. As humans we expend a great deal of time and energy learning and promoting the value of collaboration, partnership, and relationship with each other, which is good, yet it is not second nature for us to just get along. Why?
Upon asking that question, the LORD took me to Genesis 11:1-9 which talks about the Tower of Babel. There He showed me that the problem or issue was not people’s inability to work together or get along, but people’s unwillingness to acknowledge Him in their work and to believe in the Holy Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
That being the case, how can we address the problem so we can be more united and more at peace at home and abroad? I asked and I waited patiently for a response. The LORD responded by showing me that people must first agree that “unity and peace” are top priority and agree to seek after “unity and peace” in His name (Matthew 18:19, 20). For according to Jesus “if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19, 20).
Isn’t God good? Let’s just give God some praise. Come on, let’s tell Him that He is wonderful, and tell Him how mighty He is, and tell Him that He is worthy of our praise. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
To our visitors: Let this prayer be yours as you receive it and personally offer it to God, Amen.
