The Way Ministries...John 14:6

Jesus said to him,

"... I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

- John 14:6 (NKJV)

Prayer for for the ability to always pray and praise and obey God in spirit and in truth for the sake of unity and peace.

Weekly prayer of April 17, 2005.

At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for this day and this week and for Your Son Jesus Christ who is our rock and fortress and deliverer (2 Samuel 22:2). We further thank You and praise You for all that walk in the precepts of Jesus Christ with humility and love through faith. One of the things You showed us earlier in the year is that unity is to be one in worship regardless of the diversity of gifts in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 4-11). We are grateful O LORD for that knowledge. However, we would appreciate getting some more insight on the meaning of worship and its relationship to unity and peace.

In response, the LORD led me to John 4:24 where Jesus said: “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” Then He reminded me of three forms of worship: prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14), praise (Psalm 150), and obedience to God (Exodus 20:1-17). He further showed me that “worship” is to “unity and peace,” what “the fruit of the Spirit” is, to “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22, 23). At that point I said Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! And we sang “I Just Want to Praise You…” After singing that songs we asked the LORD through Christ to grant us the faith, courage, and strength to always pray and praise and obey Him in spirit and in truth for the sake of unity and peace. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
