The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for the ability to set aside our differences and follow Jesus.
Weekly prayer of June 5, 2005.
At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for a new month, a new week, and a new day. We thank You for Your word that “is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). For the sake of true unity, true peace, and true life one of the prayers last month was for each of us to set aside our differences and follow Jesus who is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29 ). While that may be a noble request we realize that man’s greatest challenge is setting aside our differences and following Jesus. That being the case how can man not let our differences interfere with following Jesus?
In response the LORD led me to 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks…” For that O LORD, we lifted up holy hands as we say: “Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! We praised You O LORD, we adore You, and we glorify You. We acknowledge that Your Son is “the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 1: 8). We acknowledge that “in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Now LORD, we pray and ask that all who visit this site will humble themselves and trust in You during their quest for true unity, true peace, and true life. Remind all O LORD that unity is being one with You (1 Corinthians 6:17 ; Ephesians 4:4-6). That Your Son Jesus gives peace to believers not in the fashion of the world but in the fashion that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). And that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Therefore, to believe in Him, is to have true life now and forever (John 11:25 ). We thank You LORD, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
