The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for Jesus' intervention in troubled marriages - Part II.
Weekly prayer of August 7, 2005.
At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for this day and this week. We thank You for the blessings and challenges of life. Knowing that life’s challenges are much more difficult to deal with than life’s blessings, in Proverbs 3: 5, 6 You said:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3: 5, 6).
As Your people we hear You and we want to trust You in everything. However, regarding marriage, what if a couple is childless and one of them desperately wants children or what if a couple’s only child died in an accident that was caused by the negligence of one of the couples, will either of these situations be ground’s for divorce?
In response, the LORD led me to Proverbs 14:12 which says:
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12).
LORD, I hear You but I know of couples that have gone their separate ways based on issues less complicated than either of these issues. Again, the LORD reminded me that “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12). At that point I thanked God for His guidance and response and asked Him to grant us the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to embrace His Word and to depart from evil. I also asked God in Jesus’ name to grant unity and peace to any couples that may be going through similar challenges and need help making the right decisions. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
