The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for peace and justice at home and abroad.
Weekly prayer of September 11, 2005.
At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. Once again, we thank You LORD for this day and this week. We especially thank You for being God and for making us Your people. Four years ago the City of New York was attacked in an unprecedented way. It was predicted then that life would never again be the same. Unfortunately, that prediction has come true in more ways than one. There is unrest in political, social, economic, and religious life even as activists and religious leaders speak against policies that promote unrest and injustice.
LORD, on this fourth anniversary of the attack on the United States of America, we can’t help but call on You for guidance and protection. We can’t help but ask You for more wisdom, more knowledge, and more understanding of what life is about. We can’t help but pray for the poor and powerless. We can’t help but turn to You for strength and hope. For You are indeed our last hopes. We need You now more than ever before. We need You for the sick and shut-in. We need You for the children and the elderly. We need You for the homeless and the unemployed. We need You for the lost and the backsliders. We need You O LORD for current and future leaders at home and abroad.
You are the only One to whom we can vent our frustration and expect a listening ear. In Jesus’ name, please hear our cry O LORD and grant our request for peace and justice according to Your will. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
To our visitors: Let this prayer be yours as you receive it and personally offer it to God, Amen. If you said and offered this prayer to God and you desire peace and justice at home and abroad submit yourself to God through Christ and to the teaching and guidance of God’s word, then, if you have any comments or prayer requests, please use this link to (Email Us).
