The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for the desire to seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways for the sake of world and national unity and peace.
Weekly prayer of September 25, 2005.
At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD once again for this day and for this week. Our prayers in the last three weeks have been on “world tragedies and disasters” with special reference to the situations at home. As You know LORD, one of the things of interest to me is how to be proactive in prayer. I glorify You for instilling that desire in me and for showing me in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that some of us Your people do indeed humble ourselves and pray but it’s usually after the damage is done. I thank You also for showing me that in general after we pray, we usually don’t follow through and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways as conditions for You to hear us from heaven and forgive us our sin and heal our land (2 Chronicles 14:7).
After this revelation I asked the LORD how we could seek His face and turn from our wicked ways? In response, the LORD led me to Matthew 7:12 where Jesus said: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12). Initially, I had mixed feelings about the LORD’s response based on man’s reluctance over the centuries to practice and apply the golden rule to his life. But realizing I was not in the position to pass judgment on mankind I prayed and I asked God to forgive my presumptions through Christ Jesus. I also asked that His will be done in my life and in the affairs of all men. I thank You LORD for the desire to seek Your face and to turn from my wicked ways. Grant the same desires to all that ask You after reading or hearing this prayer. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
