The Way Ministries...John 14:6
Prayer for of Gratitude for knowing that Jesus is my Shepherd.
Weekly prayer of October 23, 2005.
At The Way Ministries…John 14:6 everything is done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Our Father and our God in heaven. Hallowed be Your name. We thank You LORD for this day and for knowing that we are two weeks closer to the ministry’s 16 th anniversary, and two weeks away from the 1 st anniversary of the Internet ministry. As you know, when I was seven, I wanted to be a priest in my home Country of Nigeria. At 12, I thought of applying to the seminary but changed my mind for not wanting to be celibate. At 22, You allowed me to pursue my undergraduate studies abroad without loosing interest in You. Finally at 33, You got my attention when things were not going my way, and I had no choice but to submit to Your call for me to preach the gospel.
LORD, I am so grateful for Your love and for Your patience. I am glad that You kept me within sight all these years. I am thrilled to find out in Your word that:
“… He who enters (the sheepfold) by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hears his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice” (John 10:1-4).
I thank You LORD for always talking to me from heaven and through Your living word. It is exciting to have confirmation that it is You that I hear. It is You that called me at seven by my name. It is You that led me out of the world at 33. It is You that guides me and goes before me today. It is You that I follow now. It is doubly exciting that I know Your voice, and You tell me what to do, and I follow You through Christ Jesus.
I thank You LORD for being in my life. I thank You for surrounding me with Your people: at home, in church, and in the community. It is by Your grace that I do the things I do. For that I give You all the glory, and all the praise, and the entire honor. And we do this, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
To our visitors: Let this prayer inspire you to answer God’s call and to follow His guide and leadership through Christ Jesus our Lord, Amen. If my experience reminds you of avoiding or neglecting to answer God’s call, stop right now and talk to God through Christ Jesus.
